Autumn 2012 Make-Up Trends
From red lips to flashes of white - see the biggest beauty trends for autumn/winter 2012-13

IT'S always a little sad when the Fashion Weeks are over, but rounding up the make-up trends is one of the best bits of show season - and autumn/winter 2012-13 was no exception.

From red lips at Thakoon and Rick Owens to paintbox-hued eyes at Anna Sui and Dries Van Noten, there was no shortage of colour on the catwalks. And with winged liner, peacock-coloured shadow and blue mascara all making an appearance, eyes were a big autumn/winter story.

So whether you opt for Jean Paul Gaultier and Louis Vuitton's daring "morning-after" eyes or Michael Kors and Mulberry's pretty flushed cheeks, autumn/winter 2012-13's beauty trends should offer something for everyone.

RED LIPS - Across the board at the London and New York shows in particular, bold red lipstick was they key component of the beauty looks at Rick Owens, Jonathan Saunders, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and many more. Wear alone or with minimal other make-up for maximum impact.

Gatsby Glamour

WITH Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic The Great Gatsby coming to cinemas in December, the catwalks were brimming with deco details and Twenties silhouettes.
Cast yourself as a modern-day Daisy Buchanan for evening in tasselled trims - in abundance at Gucci and Etro - Marchesa's lavish beading or a froth of ostrich feathers at Ralph Lauren.
By day, flirty drop-waist dresses should be the look of choice - look to Versus and Sonia Rykiel for your inspiration.
